Patatas Bravas

Backstory:

After eating a Sunday lunch and realising that we’ve made too many roast potatoes, I decided to search for a recipe that incorporated them. After looking, I found this one. Patatas Bravas has always been a classic Spanish Tapas dish and so I was excited to make it! This is how it went…

Tips and Tricks:

  • You can use fresh tomatoes instead of chopped ones if you have them to hand
  • I often halve the recipe but still stick to the original measurements of chopped tomatoes (200g), tomato puree (1Tbsp) and all the spices (2Tsp etc) as I like a tomatoey dish!
  • If I’m using halve the potatoes, I like to add in more red onion to help soak up the sauce

Recommendation and Rating:

Overall, a tasty next day brunch! The oozing egg yolk on top of the spicy tomato, potato lauded goodness is a delight! It’s salty, sweet and packs a mild heat! What I love about this recipe, is that you’re using up leftover ingredients and it doesn’t take too much time to make. A solid dish that isn’t revolutionary and so it gets 4 stars!

Rating: 4 out of 5.
