Backstory:
It’s a sunny afternoon and my grandma popped round with some plums. A nice surprise but with me currently undertaking a savoury adventure, this ingredient seemed tricky to incorporate into a dish. I first thought to puree them and that led me onto the idea of soup and I’m glad it did! Although I’m not usually one to choose tomato soup, I was pleasantly surprised! The soup was tangy, comforting and left me wanting more!

Tips and Tricks:
- I recommend adding in more plums than the recipe states
- Top with dried coriander leaf to add a bit of zing to the soup
- Let the soup cool slightly before blending
Recommendation and rating:
It’s fair to say this is probably one of the easiest recipes I’ve ever made, with few ingredients and a simple process. This is good in many respects as the dish is tasty and quick to make. The natural sweetness of the tomato perfectly compliments the freshness of the plums. With a crusty bit of bread on a cold winters night, this soup gives you a warm hug. But with its simplicity and how the soup could use other vegetables to enhance the flavour, I give it 3 stars!
